Guy walks up to us in a trench coat and glasses.

“Psst! Want some peaberries? 👀 They’re from Tanzania. Heard they're *looks both ways* fruity.” We didn’t ask for ID, we didn’t ask what a peaberry was, we heard fruit and were immediately sold.

We gave them a light roast to keep the bright, fruity flavours front and centre. We’re not about to buy mysterious Tanzanian beans in an alley and then roast the personality out of them.

Turns out peaberries are just coffee cherries that grew one round bean instead of the usual two. Rarer, denser, supposedly sweeter. We couldn’t verify any of this from our “stranger”, but we did ask ChatGPT and it gave us the thumbs up 👍 so we’re sticking with it.
