A nurse and a pharmacist walk into a coffee farm.
No, it’s not a joke, just the beginning of the story of Agnes Mukamushinja and her husband Felix. They did what anybody would do, looking at a crumbling washing station in rural Bukure, they bought it. They rebuilt it from scratch, hired agronomists, QC managers, organized three cooperatives, and launched Le Café de Mamans, a coffee grown by 263 women farmers, sold domestically across Rwanda.
A coffee, prepared with mom’s love and care?! A recipe for deliciousness.
Just like our mom’s, we kept it light and delicate on this washed lot. A clean, sweet, fruit forward cup that makes you sit quietly for a second and wonder how two people who ran a pharmacy ended up making better decisions than most of us ever will.
Part of Project ARC. Small batch. When it's gone, it's gone.
Best as a pour-over. Obviously.
