This roast is from the Nahuatl communities in the Sierra Negra region of Puebla, Mexico. Before coffee, families in this region would often have to migrate close to the border to work painstaking jobs in the fields, until they banded together to invest their savings in the land their parents and grandparents left to them and converted them into coffee plantations.
Incredible story isn’t it? 18 families came together to make their lives better and make our coffee more delicious. Meanwhile, we don’t even like inviting our own family over for dinner.
So next time you’re dreading Uncle Jimmy and Aunt Sally’s visit, pour yourself a delightful cup of this Mexican coffee and think to yourself, if 18 families can get along in business, you can handle a couple cheek pinches from Gramma.
